More info

Superb 18th century Neapolitan work of this nativity scene representing the Nativity scene. It is made up of Joseph, the Virgin Mary, the baby Jesus and two women.
The faces and hands of the figures are very finely carved polychrome terracotta. They've got glass eyes and their bodies are in stuff.
Some of the characters are dressed in the original clothes.
A basket filled with trompe l'oeil food rests on the knees of the seated woman.
The whole is in a very good state of conservation: it is missing two small tips on the fingers of the baby Jesus, as well as the glass globe which covered the round base.
Maximum height: Joseph, 36 cm
