Rare and beautiful pair of candlesticks, in gilded bronze, return from Egypt.
The binet and the bobeche were melted in a single block and are placed on a cup above a woman's head wearing an Egyptian headdress.
This head, patinated in black, surmounts a shaft, itself fixed on a claw foot also patinated in black and resting on a column base.
Everything is placed on a large circular base.
Very good quality of carving, with several different knurls.
This is an unusual model with its original gilding (some normal wear).
Neat work, Empire period.
