Beautiful oil on canvas depicting a sailboat (4 masts square), all sails opened and downwind. It seems that this is the Falls of Clyde, one of the last sailing ships of this type, built in 1878 in Glasgow's port.
Walnut frame.
Work from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
The painting is signed P. Forest bottom right : Pierre Forest (1881-1971).
